Obituary

Wayne B. Laucks, of Red Lion, went from life to life eternal on Friday, July 20, 2018 at 8:10 am at his residence at the age of 89. He was the husband of Delores M. (Frey) Laucks to whom he married on September 20, 1951. He was born in Windsor on December 15, 1928 and was the son of the late Luther M. and Catherine V. (Fitzkee) Laucks. Wayne graduated from the Red Lion High School, class of 1947. He then entered the United States Army, serving during the Korean War. He worked for 33 years at Caterpillar, Inc. as a superintendent, retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Wrightsville Free & Accepted Masons Lodge # 503, a former member of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Shriners and Harrisburg Consistory. He is a member of the Windsor Church of God and president of the COGS (Church of God Seniors) which he was instrumental in getting started and was an adult Sunday school teacher. Wayne was a former member of Canadochly Church where he also started COGS. He was a member and treasurer of the Windsor Hunting Club since 1953 and a life member of the Yorkana Game and Gun Club. Besides his wife, Delores, he leaves two sons, Randall W. Laucks and his wife Therese of York and Rick L. Laucks and his wife Cyndi of York. He was the grandfather of Jessica M. McCullen and husband Brian, Jason R. Laucks and his wife Alisha, Tyler R. Laucks, Ryan W. Laucks, and Justin C. Laucks. Wayne was the great grandfather of Emma M. Barner, Olivia J. Laucks and Archer R. Laucks and he also has three step great grandchildren. He was one of fourteen children, leaving a brother, Nathan Laucks and wife Kay of Red Lion and three sisters, Catherine V. Laucks Tomlinson of York, Sylvia R. Laucks of York and Rose M. Shelly of Craley along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters. There will be a viewing on Tuesday, July 24th from 6-8 pm and on Wednesday, July 25th from 9-10 am at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A Service of Honor and Praise for Wayne will begin at 10 am with his pastor, Rev. Anthony Zumbo officiating. Burial will follow at Canadochly Cemetery with full military rites offered by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Wayne was a loving husband to Delores, celebrating 67 years together, a great father and grandfather. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially deer hunting with his sons and grandchildren. He loved his little dog Coconut, who was waiting for him at the Rainbow Bridge. Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full, I savored much, good friends, good times and loved ones touch. Perhaps my time seemed all to brief, do not lengthen it now with undue grief.
