Daniel C. Resh, of Windsor, entered into rest at his home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday evening, October 15, 2023 at the age of 78. He was the husband of Shirley D. (Leiphart) Resh to whom he married on November 3, 1962, sharing 60 years together.
Born in Lewisberry on July 31, 1945, Daniel was the son of the late Charles D. and Helen B. (Kline) Resh. Daniel was employed as a mechanic at Hallam Body Reubilders and retired from Donsco, Inc. as a maintenance mechanic. A dedicated lifetime member of the Early American Steam Engine & Old Equipment Society, Inc., Daniel had a passion for collecting Lionel Trains and could be often found under the hood of his 1928 Ford. He also enjoyed working on his John Deere and Farmall Tractors. In addition to his mechanical pursuits, Daniel loved being outside and spending time with his family. He valued moments with the ones he held dear to his heart. Daniel attended Mt. Pisgah Trinity United Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife, Shirley, Daniel leaves his four daughters, Tammy D. Eames and husband, Robert of York, Danielle L. Dube of East Prospect, Melissa A. Livelsberger of Delaware and Tina M. Ishman and husband, Gary of York. He will be missed by his ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren as well as his sisters, Barbara A. Castle of York and Margaret A. Weichart of Hellam. He leaves his aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and was preceded in death by his sisters, Florence Simon and Audrey Witmer.
A viewing for Daniel will take place on Friday, October 20, 2023 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Wagner-Elfner and Burg Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A funeral service will begin at 12:00 pm with Rev. David S. Hildebrand officiating. Burial will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
