Karen K. Pomraning, of York, went to her eternal home from Pleasant Acres Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Monday, July 3, 2023 at the age of 80.
Born on March 25, 1943 in Woodbine PA, she was the daughter of the late Luther and Kathryn (Miller) Pomraning.
For many years, Karen worked at the former Sheltered Workshop, now Shadowfax, in York. She enjoyed socializing, cutting recipes from magazines and creating scrapbooks, listening to music, specifically Garth Brooks and in her earlier years, collecting eggs from her chickens. After residing at Country Meadows in West York for twenty years, Karen relocated to Pleasant Acres in 2018. The family is grateful to staff and residents at both facilities. Karen loved meeting people and being surrounded by friends. She was a lifelong member of Pine Grove Presbyterian Church in Sunnyburn.
Karen leaves her brother-in-law, Tom Sanagorski and wife, Rebecca of Dillsburg, her nieces, Rebecca Sanagorski, Laura Warner, and Emily Sanagorski, and her dear friend Becky Caldwell. She was preceded in death by her younger sister, Linda Sanagorski.
A service to celebrate Karen’s life will be scheduled at a later date. Wagner-Elfner and Burg Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pine Grove Presbyterian Church, 4263 Delta Road, Airville, PA 17302.
