Mervin S. Miller entered into rest on his farm in Brogue on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at the age of 95. He was the husband of the late Gladys O. (Neff) Miller who died on February 8, 2011.
Mervin was born in Lower Chanceford Township on August 7, 1928 to the late William A. and Mabel O. (Krewson) Miller. He graduated from Lower Chanceford High School and began farming at a young age, retiring only several years ago. He treasured his daily visits with his daughter, working on jigsaw puzzles and reading. Mervin was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.
He will be missed by his only daughter, Jane E. Spangler and son-in-law, Michael of Brogue, and his two grandchildren, Jennifer L. Spangler of Harrisburg and Matthew D. Spangler of Brogue. He leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Lizzie, Curvin, Jennie, Roy, Arthur, Edna, Pearl, Clyde, Ray, Ruth, Mary, Dale, and Ethel.
A viewing for Mervin will take place at Wagner-Elfner and Burg Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion on Friday, October 13, 2023 at 9:30 am. The funeral service will begin at 10:30 am with Pastor John D. Waltermyer officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
