Vivian Luella (Hoover) Jamison, of Yoe, died at Wellspan York Hospital on Friday morning, September 29, 2023 at the age of 90. She is reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Frayer “Jamie” R. Jamison who entered into rest on May 26, 2023.


She was born in West Manchester Township on July 31, 1933 to the late Clair D. and Annie Alice (Sellers) Hoover. Vivian was a graduate of York College, class of 1985. She worked for 11 years at Dallastown High School as a secretary and later at York College for 18 years from where she eventually retired. She enjoyed spending her time gardening, reading, walking, and being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren who she adored. Vivian was a member of St. Paul’s Church of Red Lion for over 70 years. She was recognized in 2018 as an Honorary Life Volunteer by Wellspan Health with more than 3300 hours of volunteer service.


Vivian leaves her son, Steven R. Jamison and wife, Cathy of York, her two daughters, Lori J. Domer and husband, Doug of Penrose, Colorado and Joleen L. Cole and husband, Greg of Concord, California. She will be missed by her nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. She leaves her sister, Helen Schurtz and husband, Paul of York Haven, along with numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Vivian is also reunited with her sister, Gloria Jane Waltemyer who died only two weeks ago on September 15, 2023.


A viewing and time to visit with the family will take place at St. Paul’s Church of Red Lion, 45 1st Avenue, Red Lion on Saturday, October 7, 2023 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am. A funeral service for Vivian will begin at 11:30 am with her pastor, Rev. Chris Nauta, officiating. Burial will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens after the service. Wagner-Elfner and Burg Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion is assisting the family with arrangements.
